They Wonder (Poem)
They wonder why I sit in prayer,
when I could do so much.
They wonder why I do not tire,
when hours pass me by.
They wonder how I am consoled,
when my tears fall in silence.
They wonder how I do not sleep,
when both my eyes are closed.
They wonder what I say to Him,
when my prayer book is shut.
They wonder why it pains me to leave,
when I've been here for hours.
They wonder why I do not speak,
when all I want is silence.
They wonder why my face glows bright,
when all the world is darkness.
They may wonder, let them wonder,
indeed they could not know,
my heart is here, my mind here dwells,
for I am in love.
